Laser Genesis The Photo facial lunchtime laser treatment
Laser genesis is a procedure that uses the gentler settings of the NDYAG laser to warm the dermis of the skin where small capillaries and collagen lie. The effect of laser genesis is to close small capillaries that cause excessive facial redness and flush, and to stimulate the collagen production resulting in smoother skin texture and the reduction in the appearance of fine wrinkles such as crows feet and lines around the lips.

What will I feel?
It is relaxing. Since laser genesis causes a gradual warming of the skin's surface, it is calming and comfortable. The laser handpiece is moved back and forth about ½ inch above the skin surface. The laser passes over the area approximately 400 times in a gentle sweeping motion.

What parts of the face can be treated?
Most of the face can be treated except the area within the eye socket.

Preparation
You will need to remove all makeup and moisturizer. In some cases you will need to shave the area to be treated. You will wear protective eyewear during the procedure. You do not need gel on the surface of the skin.

Aftercare
You will have minor redness and swelling for a few hours, You will need to wear sunscreen for at least three days as your skin will be a little sun sensitive. There is a very small chance of pinpoint bruising of the skin that will completely heal.

Treatments
You will need a series of 6 treatments about 2 weeks apart to produce new collagen and smoother looking skin.

Once you achieve the look you want you may schedule maintenance treatments every 4-6 months. If you are diligent in protecting your skin from the sun you may need less.
